Identity Tablet Hands-on

Identity Tab

Android tablets are not the only handful models known as Samsung Galaxy, Motorola Xoom or T-Mobile G-Slate, but in fact there is whole new world of Android Tablets out there. Not cutting edge but cheap options for those beginners in the tablet market. Like Telstra T-Touch Pad there is also the Identity Tab of Dynamism. A tablet of the now trendy 7-inch size Identity Tab is available in a Wi-Fi model as well for $299 despite its shortcomings.

Identity Tablet

Starting right from the box it has a brushed aluminum body similar to the iPad 2, and the following features as follows;

  • 1GHz Hummingbird Processor with 512MB RAM
  • 7-inch capacitive multitouch screen in 800×480 resolution
  • Connectivity ports are; 3.5mm headset jack, MicroSD card lot, and miniUSB as well as miniHDMI output
  • Its battery is a 4,100 mAh Li-ion
  • Runs on Android 2.2 Froyo including Android Market
  • 8GB internal flash memory with up to 32 GB extendable
  • Has Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
  • With 3 megapixels camera but without Flash

Apart from the mediocre camera and rather average display the only two departments which undermine the tablet otherwise the display is nicely sensitive and boasts all other features like an average Android tablet.

Like other platforms on Android 2.2 the identity fares quite well with the refined version of the Android OS and is a rich experience despite not being the best there is for tablet usage.
