MacBook Air “killer” Inbound: Lenovo ThinkPad X1!

Apple’s flagship products are a common name in the technological. Yet so are the rest of them. Fame however is the word that accompanies Apple’s products into the consumer niche market.  With rivals for the iPad, the Apple iPod Touch, the iPhone and also the MacBook series, Apple still claims the superior edge in consumer standards. Focusing on Apple’s laptops for the time being we can say that Apple has a history of not only the first PC system made but also thin and smart laptops.

But Lenovo also boasts a firm base of ThinkPad series. Lately the Lenovo set against the MacBook air its thinnest ThinkPad notebook the X1. Its combination of technology and thin compact design greatly questions MacBook Air’s single dominance in the laptop industry.

It’s a mere 3.8 pounds of light weight, 0.65 – 0.84 inches thick casing, a sharp 13.3” display,  and functions with powerful performance. Most important of all Lenovo subtracted nothing but only added the design to the ThinkPad’s renowned durability, outstanding keyboard, tools and top of the range battery technology making charging three times as fast and battery life longer. The X1 takes up the title “MacBook Air-Killer” from its predecessor; the ThinkPad X300, which was a MacBook Air competitor when released in 2008.

The X1 will run on the powerful and latest Intel processor known as Sandy Bridge along with 4GB RAM utilizing Windows OS. The screen comes with In-Plane-Switching technology offering more variety in angles for viewing. The display is layered with Gorilla Glass material like that seen in the new iPhone release. The X1 will sport the standard USB 3.0 port, HDMI port, DisplayPort and dual 2.0 USB ports. Moreover an HD webcam will also be included.
